Australia's Bhagwan Marine Adapts to Changing O& G Business Environment
Bhagwan Marine, an Australian provider of offshore vessels to the offshore oil and gas as well as resources industries, reported Monday that as a number of Australia’s major Oil & Gas projects move from a construction phase to a production phase, service companies “need to adapt their business models accordingly”, according to its Managing Director Loui Kannikoski.
Kannikoski said yesterday, “We have recently right sized and reshaped our Australian business to adapt to the changing environment, as a number of our vessels come off charter in the North West Shelf region.” Kannikoski said “We have recently signed vessel contracts with Apache Energy, Woodside and BHP. There is plenty of work out there for service companies like ours if they remain competitive and give the major Oil & Gas players what they are looking for.”
Bhagwan’s foresight to acquire UK business Marine Towage Services (MTS) in 2014 has given them the unique ability to deploy vessels to other regions of the globe. Bhagwan Marine are targeting emerging markets in Mozambique, Russia and Papua New Guinea as the company’s focus extends beyond their core work in the Australian market.
Bhagwan are also continually upgrading their fleet to offer the major Oil & Gas companies purpose-built solutions for the production phase. “Bhagwan Marine has never been a company to sit still or rest on its laurels” said Kannikoski.
These are assuring messages from one of Western Australia’s most successful privately run companies over the past decade.
