Azonto Petroleum Appoints Former Chairman as Non-Executive Director

Junior energy firm Azonto Petroleum announced Wednesday that the company has appointed its former Executive Chairman Glenn Whiddon as a Non-Executive Director, effective June 2, 2015.

Whiddon stepped down from the Azonto board in March 2012 to pursue other interests, according to the company. He was previously the Executive Chairman, CEO and President of Grove Energy Limited, a European oil and gas exploration and development company.

Azonto Petroleum Chairman Andrew Sinclair commented in a company statement:

"We are pleased to welcome back Glenn onto the board.  He is a significant shareholder of the company and already has a good understanding of the company from his previous involvement.  We look forward to benefitting from his experience as we move forward."
