Russia's Timchenko Confident Yamal LNG will be Finished
MOSCOW, June 2 (Reuters) - Gennady Timchenko, co-owner of Russia's second biggest gas producer Novatek, said he was confident the Yamal LNG project would be finished.
Novatek is under Western sanctions because of Moscow's role in the Ukraine crisis, which restrict Russian companies' access to global capital markets.
Yamal shareholders, which also include France's Total and China CNPC, are looking to raise $10-$15 billion from Chinese banks for the project.
Timchenko told reporters that talks with Chinese banks were continuing. "Don't worry, we will build this Yamal," he said.
