Key Petroleum Prepares for Dunnart-2 Completion, Testing Ops in Perth Basin

Key Petroleum (Australia) Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Key Petroleum Limited and Operator of EP437, reported Thursday that all Drilling Contractors of Australia (DCA) Rig 6 drilling equipment has now arrived at the Dunnart-2 site in permit EP437 in Western Australia's onshore Perth Basin coinciding with the delivery of 3.5 inch tubing string, Halliburton completion sliding sleeve and completion packer and TKM Xmas tree.

The flare pit will be modified to suit testing and completion operations once rig up has been completed followed by the arrival of both the Completion and Wireline Engineers. Key’s Managing Director Kane Marshall is also expected to arrive on site on Saturday, May 30 and will manage all operational logistics requirements for the duration of the program.

The rig up and subsequent testing and completion program will be run in daylight hours only with perforation and the flow test expected to take place shortly after rigging up has been completed this weekend.

Joint Venture participants in EP437 are:

  • Key Petroleum Limited (Key Petroleum (Australia) Pty Ltd) (Operator) - 43.47 percent
  • Rey Resources Limited (Rey Oil and Gas Perth Pty Ltd) - 43.47 percent
  • Caracal Exploration Pty Limited - 13.06 percent
