NPD Grants Det Norske Drilling Permit for Ivar Aasen Field

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Det Norske Oljeselskap a drilling permit for well 16/1-22 A in the Ivar Aasen field.

The well will be drilled from the Maersk Interceptor (492’ ILC) in production license 001 B, after the drilling facility has completed the drilling of appraisal well 16/1-22 S. Det Norske is the operator of Ivar Aasen and holds an interest of 34.7 percent in the field. Other owners include Statoil Petroleum (41.4 percent), Bayerngas Norge (12.3 percent), Wintershall Norge (6.4 percent), VNG Norge (3 percent), Lundin Norway (1.3 percent) and OMV (0.5 percent).

Production license 001 B was formed on September 1, 1999. This is the eighth exploration well to be drilled within the license area and the tenth on the Ivar Aasen field.
