DNO Announces Production Increase at Tawke Field in Iraq

Norwegian oil and gas operator DNO revealed Thursday that oil production at the Tawke field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq has increased between 1Q and 2Q, 2015.

DNO reported that 104,925 barrels of oil were produced per day in 1Q 2015 from the Tawke field, compared to an average production rate of 146,309 bopd in the current quarter to date. The company also stated that a new daily record of 170,000 barrels of oil had been produced from Tawke.

DNO Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani commented in a company statement:

"We are ramping up production, export and local sales following the recently completed Tawke capacity expansion. We will dust off investment plans as our revenue stream continues to grow."

In May 2015, DNO completed a two-year investment program, which doubled Tawke wellhead, processing and pipeline capacity to 200,000 bopd with the addition of ten horizontal wells, two production trains and a 27 mile, 24-inch pipeline.
