Sound Oil Begins Drilling Second Nervesa Well

Onshore Italy-focused junior producer Sound Oil reported Friday that is has begun the drilling of a second well on its Nervesa gas field concession in the Veneto region of the country.

Site preparations were materially completed on April 10 with the installation of a 20-inch conductor to a depth of 144 feet. The rig-up of the hydraulic HH220 rig, contracted from Hydrodrilling SrL, began April 13.

With the rig-up completed within 10 days the second Nervesa well spud April 23. Drilling is expected to reach a total measured depth of 6,740 feet, with the drilling program expected to be completed in approximately 40 days. Drilling and logging will take around 30 days, while completion and clean-up is expected to take five days. Well testing will take another five days.

Earlier in April, Sound CEO James Parsons said that the firm expects to achieve its first commercial production of gas from Nervesa this year, with the first Nervesa well initially generating around $4.3 million in annual revenues.
