MH to Supply Drilling Package for Mittelplate A

Bentec GmbH of Bad Bentheim has awarded Maritime Hydraulics AS, part of the Aker Kvaerner group, a contract for the delivery of various equipment for the upgrading of the Mittelplate A facilities. Bentec has been award the total EPC turn key contract for the complete upgrading project and MH will act as a subcontractor to Bentec. The contract awarded to Maritime Hydraulics is worth approximately NOK 40 million.

Maritime Hydraulics' competence and drilling equipment will be central in the technological upgrading of the artificial island, situated on a oil reservoir, just outside Cuxhaven, Germany.

"This is an important delivery for Maritime Hydraulics and it shows that we are one of the worlds' leading suppliers of such advanced drilling solutions", says Roald Amundsen, the company's president.

The project was started at Maritime Hydraulics AS in March based on a Letter Of Intent. The delivery of the equipment is scheduled for early 2005.
