Mammoet Installs Malampaya Phase 3 DCP off Palawan Island for Shell

To facilitate this precise calibration, part of the strand jack installation included special "guying valves" and a new computer system to create a constant tension to deal with the movement of the platform on the water.

The platform is now being held in its raised position, with its 262 foot (80 meter) legs secured on the seabed, awaiting the completion of the operation to weld it in place and install the connecting link-bridge.

Mammoet’s experience in installing and raising offshore platforms ensured the project was executed swiftly and safely within 48 hours. Use of the "self-installing platform" avoided the need for specialized barges that would have been necessary for the more conventional float-over platform installation method. This saved Shell valuable time and resources.
