The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority has granted its consent to Statoil to use the accommodation rig, Safe Scandinavia, as a flotel on Sleipner. The company will use the Safe Scandinavia to accommodate personnel in connection with the Sleipner Vest Compression/Alfa Nord Project and planned shutdown in 2004.

The Safe Scandinavia is operated by Prosafe Offshore Ltd. The rig will be utilized during mid-July to mid-October 2004.

The consent is granted under the assumption that Statoil follows up the non-conformances listed in the audit of the Safe Scandinavia made earlier this year.
