Sub-Atlantic Secures ROV Orders

UK-based oilfield equipment firm Sub-Atlantic reported Monday that it has secured three contracts in Norway, Italy and Australia for its specialist remotely-operated vehicles (ROVs).

The $5.5-million deal will see Sub-Atlantic – part of Forum Energy Technologies Group – supply Norway's IKM Subsea, Italy's Globe Exploration and Total Marine Technology in Australia with its ROVs for offshore work. It will also help support the company's recruitment drive in which it plans to add 20 manufacturing jobs at its Kirbymoorside facility in Yorkshire, England, where it currently employs 300 people.

Sub-Atlantic Global Product Director Ryan Lumsden said in a company statement that the firm's investment in Yorkshire means it has "created a real centre of excellence which brings together our combined expertise and innovation and is unrivalled within our industry globally". He added that the firm is also looking to strengthen its Aberdeen operations center.
