Det norske Appoints New Head of Projects

Norwegian independent oil and gas firm Det norske oljeselskap announced Thursday that it has appointed Olav Henriksen as its new head of projects. Det norske CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik has been acting as the firm's Senior Vice President for Projects since the integration of Marathon Oil Norge in mid-October.

The firm said that Henriksen has extensive experience working at both Kvaerner Installasjon and ConocoPhillips, where since 1990 he worked on large development projects such as the Ekofisk, Statfjord, Gullfaks, Oseberg and Eldfisk developments.

Det norske plans to organize all its projects into one unit, with the Ivar Aasen project being the largest project over which Henriksen will assume responsibility.

Det norske CEO Hersvik commented in a company statement:

"Det norske has great ambitions on the Norwegian shelf and shall ensure that future development projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Consequently, we are very pleased that someone with such extensive experience from large development projects will be joining our team."
