Oilfield services firm Wood Group announced Friday that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia.
The firm said its Wood Group PSN and Wood Group Mustang subsidiaries will deliver brownfield engineering, procurement and construction-management services to support Exxon's offshore operations in Malaysia. The contract is the first that Wood Group PSN has secured in the Malaysian market.
Andrew Stewart, managing director of Wood Group PSN Australia & Asia Pacific, commented in a company statement:
"We are thrilled with the award of this contract, which enables us to position the company in the exciting Malaysian market. The win has drawn on the strengths of Wood Group PSN and Wood Group Mustang to offer an unmatched proposition of local content and a proven brownfield performance regime.
"Wood Group is privileged to provide a diverse range of operations and technical support to ExxonMobil through integrated brownfield and engineering service contracts in Australia, Asia, Canada, the United States and Africa."
Bob Lindsay, president of Wood Group Mustang's offshore business unit, added:
"Wood Group is excited to support ExxonMobil in Malaysia and this contract furthers our strategy to bring Wood Group expertise to Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. We look forward to successfully providing a leading range of operations support skills to this region."
