Oil & Gas UK Announces Finalists for 2014 Industry Awards
Industry body Oil & Gas UK announced Tuesday that the finalists for its annual awards ceremony have been selected.
Oil & Gas UK Business Development Director Stephen Marcos commented in a statement:
"We are once again delighted to announce the finalists for the Oil & Gas UK Awards – an event which brings our industry together to showcase the exceptional individuals and companies across Britain. Those who made it onto the shortlists fought off some tough competition; and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those companies and individuals that shared their stories with us this summer.
"Following feedback from both the 2013 judging panel and our members, we have tailored our awards categories to ensure that they are relevant to a broader range of companies – from multinational operators to SMEs [small and medium-sized enterprises] within the industry's GBP 35 billion [$57 billion] supply chain. Our expert judges have a difficult task ahead, as this is our largest group of finalists yet."
The Oil & Gas UK Awards 2014 now features seven categories, with three finalists selected in each category.
The Investment in People (small companies) finalists include Axis Well Technology, Applied Drilling Technology International and Ingen Ideas. The Investment in People (large enterprises) category has Atkins, Swire Oilfield Services and Bibby Offshore shortlisted.
The Business Innovation (small companies) award will be contested by Meta, Alba Power and Sky-Futures, while EnQuest, Cape Environmental Services Offshore and Survitec Group will fight it out to be named winner of the Business Innovation (large enterprises) award.
Atkins Technical Director Robert Bell, Petrofac Talent Development Consultant Mal Lowe and Ingen Ideas Lead Field Development Engineer have been shortlisted for the Mentor of the Year award.
Apprentice of the Year will be contested by Ross Macleod of Wood Group PSN, Marnie Toal of Proserv and Ryan Geddes of BP. The Graduate of the Year award sees Hayleigh Pearson of Costain Upstream, Barry Mitchell of Wood Group PSN and John Stoddard of Proserv shortlisted.
Prizes will be awarded at the annual awards ceremony at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday, November 6.
