Hunting Energy Services, an energy services provider, reported Tuesday that the firm has won $18 million worth of contracts to supply wireline equipment to clients in the Far East as the Aberdeen-based firm targets further international growth.
An agreement with Malaysian oilfield services company Deleum Oilfield Services is among the significant new deals in the region for the company, which is part of the global Hunting PLC group. A number of the group’s divisions, both in the UK and the US, will be responsible for manufacturing the equipment.
Stewart Barrie, Asia Pacific well intervention region manager for Hunting, said: “We are delighted to have concluded the deal with Deleum and look forward to working with such a well established company in the region and to providing continued support to their operations in the region for a long time.
“Hunting Energy Services has built its reputation through its work in the North Sea but our reach has grown considerably in recent years and our presence in the Asia Pacific region is key to the growth strategy we are following.
“The deal with Deleum demonstrates our ability to make an impact in the Far East, a contract win which was supported by our excellent track record for innovation and quality. Those are strengths which are vital as we seek to grow the business internationally.”
The contract with Deleum is for the supply of a range of wireline equipment, including Hunting’s unique Slickline VariBall system, the design of which allows extended reach in highly deviated wells and features elliptical roller design with built-in swivels.
Stewart Barrie added: “The VariBall tool is just one example of the cutting edge products being developed by our highly skilled research and development teams, in seeking to provide efficient and effective down hole roller systems. Our focus on providing solutions through intelligent engineering is something we are very proud of and in an increasingly competitive market is something we believe sets us apart.”
