Gas Leak on Asgard

The six-kilometer pipeline that connects the Asgard A production ship to the Asgard B platform in the Norwegian Sea has been closed due to a gas leak.

The leak, which was discovered August 13th, has been localized about 300 meters from the Asgard B platform. There is no danger to people or installations in the area. A remotely-operated vehicle (ROV), is currently inspecting the damage, however it is too early to determine the cause of the leak. The gas from Asgard A is now being reinjected into the reservoir.
