Norway's PSA Okays Use of Deepsea Delta for Brontes Well

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS consent to conduct exploration drilling (well 30/11-6, Brontes) with the semisub Deepsea Delta.

Well 30/11-6 (production license 035/272) is located about 50 km south of Oseberg. Water depth at the location is 104.5 meters.

The supply base is Mongstad. Personnel transport to and from the installation will be carried out from the helicopter terminal at Bergen Airport, Flesland.

Deepsea Delta is a modified Ocean Ranger design, built at Rauma Repola in 1981. The rig is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling. It has been modified several times and was most recently upgraded in 1998.

Planned start-up of the activity is June 1, 2004, and estimated drilling time is 30 days.
