Work Starts on Lidsey-1 Well Intervention

Onshore-focused UK Oil & Gas reported Wednesday that work has started on the second-stage well intervention on the producing Lidsey-1 well in the UK Weald Basin. The firm said that this second-stage production enhancement program is expected to take approximately one week to complete.

UK Oil & Gas holds six percent of Angus Energy, which is the operator and 70-percent owner of the Lidsey oilfield. Lidsey, which is held under UK production license PL241, saw a boost in its production late last year thanks to a recompletion program, with production since declining to between 34 and 38 barrels per day. A new recompletion is being planned in order to boost production again.

The drilling of the new Lidsey-2 well has been postponed until after the Lidsey-1 well recompletion.

UK Oil & Gas Chairman David Lenigas commented in a company statement:

"This long awaited production improvement program on the Lidsey Oil Field, near Bogna Regis, is designed to open up the existing un-tapped sections of the Lidsey-1 well. Results of this program will be announced when completed."
