Australia's oil and gas exploration firm Metgasco Limited reported Thursday that it has received a reply from the New South Wales (NSW) Premier Mike Baird in response to the Company’s letter requesting his immediate review of the decision by his Government to suspend the Company’s approval to drill an exploration well at the Rosella site located in exploration license PEL 16 in NSW, Australia.
The Premier advised that he has referred the matters raised to Anthony Roberts, the Minister for Resources and Energy, and that a reply can be expected shortly. We are yet to receive this reply.
Metgasco is aware of a number of statements, including some made in the NSW Parliament, that Metgasco believes are incorrect and misleading. Metgasco has written to all Members of the NSW State Parliament refuting these claims and setting out our views relating to the suspension of approval to drill the Rosella E01 exploration well at Bentley. A copy of the letter can be found on our website by clicking the link below.
Metgasco has written to ICAC asking it to expedite its consideration of any matters pertaining to Metgasco that have been referred to it, in order to clear our reputation as soon as possible.
Metgasco continues to pursue all options related to this matter. Shareholders will continue to be kept informed of developments.
