Kea Appoints New Managing Director

Kea Petroleum announced Tuesday that it has appointed Dr Ian Brown as managing director of its operating subsidiaries in New Zealand from May 1. Brown will replace current Managing Director Richard Parkes, who will leave the firm on May 15.

Brown is a geological engineer with more than 30 years' experience in applied earth science and management. Between 1985 and 2011 he managed a consulting practice of up to 10 geologists, geophysicists and engineers working on a variety of projects, including oil and gas exploration and development.

From early 2011 to April 2014, Brown served as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager at New Zealand Energy Corporation.
