Singapore's Kim Heng Offshore & Marine CEO Thomas Tan tells Rigzone his plans for the company and shares views on the industry.

Singapore, located in the heart of Southeast Asia, is home to many offshore and marine firms, such as Kim Heng Offshore & Marine Holdings Ltd. (Kim Heng), servicing oil and gas companies in the region. Established in 1968, it began operations as a tugboat company but gradually evolved to become an integrated offshore and marine services provider.

Kim Heng raised $29.6 million (SGD 36.4 million) through a listing on the Singapore Exchange in January and plans to utilize over half of the funds to enhance yard facilities and expand vessel fleet. The remainder will be used to expand and diversify its business and service offerings in the offshore petroleum industry, including potential merger and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures and/or strategic alliances.

Kim Heng Executive Chairman and CEO Thomas Tan, who has over 35 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, outlines the firm’s plans and offers views on the petroleum sector in an interview with Rigzone.
