Former Aker Well Intervention Businesses Restructured

Qinterra has completed the restructuring of two well-intervention businesses it acquired from Aker Solutions in January this year, the firm reported Tuesday.

Qinterra, the holding company for the two businesses, said that they have been rebranded as Altus Intervention and Qintetta Technologies.

Altus – which employs approximately 1,300 people in Norway, Denmark and the UK – offers wireline, wireline tractor, coiled tubing and logging services across the North Sea region. Its UK operation also offers pipeline and process services.

Qinterra Technologies – employing around 300 people in several locations around the world – is a specialist intervention technology company that offers wireline tractor services and other mechanical tools. It will act as a technology supplier to its sister company.

"Put simply, Altus Intervention is the brand that our North Sea customers will relate to. Operationally this is no change from today," Qinterra CEO Jørgen Peter Rasmussen said in a company statement.

"The Qinterra Technologies brand, meanwhile, will represent our international wireline tractor technology and spearhead our expansion plans outside the North Sea."
