Glasgow-based and Singapore headquartered EEW Energy Services (EEW ES) - the premier steel supplier for global projects in the oil and gas and the renewable energy sector - reported Thursday announced that it has secured a $2.64 million (GBP 1.6 million) contract with PT PAL of Jakarta, Indonesia.
EEW ES’ contract with PT PAL is to supply high grade steel for a new Wellhead Platform, destined for Husky Oil’s Madura Field offshore East Java, Indonesia.
EEW Energy Services is privately held and backed by a 75 year heritage of Germany’s EWW Group and has a network of steel mills and manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. With headquarters in Singapore and a Glasgow-base, the combined EEW ES operations give the UK energy sector direct access to a worldwide manufacturing and supply chain capability, in high performance and complex steel for oil and gas extraction and renewable energy sectors.
PT PAL, Indonesia a leading maritime and engineering company in the region, is one of the main contractors to Husky Oil’s Madura fields where Husky Energy owns 40 percent, in the Madura Straight on East Java, Indonesia.
EEW ES’ CEO Michael Craig commented: “We are delighted to announce the contract win. In just a few months since opening our UK base in Glasgow, our strength and capability is being realized. We will complete and fast track the supply of all steel required by June, using our manufacturing mills in Korea and Germany. Our Glasgow and Singapore bases will back-up the supply of high quality steel materials for accelerated manufacture of the platforms.”
With responsibility for overseeing supply contracts for Husky Oil’s Madura Field, Bambang Setiawan, deputy project manager, PT PAL added: “We have enjoyed a successful working relationship with EEW ES and are confident their global reach will make a significant difference to the completion of the Wellhead Platform on time.”
