Zenith Wins 'Significant' Contract to Drill UK Well
Aberdeen-based well engineering firm Zenith Energy reported Thursday that it recently won a "significant" contract for well-management services with Europa Oil & Gas. The deal is the first full well-management service deal signed by the firm since it was established in 2012.
Zenith will provide well construction and project management services for Europa's onshore exploration well at Kiln Lane on UK production license PEDL 181. The well is expected to be drilled during the second half of 2014, with Zenith executing all well planning, regulatory permitting and full project management of the drilling operation as well as tendering for the drilling rig and associated services.
Zenith Managing Director Martin Booth commented in a company statement:
"Over the past 18 months, Zenith has developed a strong well engineering team, providing support to 12 different operators in the UK, Norway and West Africa. This contract with Europa will offer an opportunity for complete well delivery, providing Zenith with the platform to demonstrate its ability to deliver superior performance using our expert skills and knowledge."
Europa CEO Hugh Mackay added:
"Following a previous working relationship with Zenith, we know that they have the experience, expertise and capability to complete the work. This exploration project is one of several exciting opportunities that Europa is planning in 2014 and we look forward to working with Zenith on this project."
