SeaBird Clinches Seismic Work off Australia's NWS and New Zealand

Norwegian seismic survey firm SeaBird Exploration Plc reported Friday that its Aquila Explorer vessel has been awarded a contract for a survey off the North West shelf of Australia and additional contracts for two surveys in New Zealand.

The three contracts, which have a combined estimated duration of 40 days, is worth approximately $5 million. Aquila Explorer was converted to a 2D-Source vessel in Singapore in 2007.

Earlier this month, SeaBird's Voyager Explorer vessel clinched a $2 million deal to carry out 2D seismic survey, which will commence in mid-March and take approximately 20 days to complete, for a national oil company in the Asia Pacific region.
