MOSCOW, March 5 (Reuters) – Russia's Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of state gas company Gazprom, said on Wednesday it had connected its Iraqi Badra oil field to the oil pipeline system.

The company said in a statement that the new infrastructure has a capacity for 204,000 barrels per day. Badra oil can now be shipped to the export terminal at the city of Basra, it added.

Gazprom Neft plans to start commercial oil production in spring at its Badra oilfield in Iraq and hopes for an average output of 15,000 barrels per day this year.
