Indonesia's Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKKMigas) revealed that the petroleum industry intends to drill 206 exploration wells this year, the organization's Acting Chairman J. Widjonarko told a parliamentary hearing earlier this week.
“All of the exploration well drillings planned are expected to be realized, as opposed to the previous year where only approximately 130 exploration well drillings were carried out,” Widjonarko said.
In addition to exploration drilling, the industry plans to conduct 49 seismic surveys in 2014, including the acquisition of 5,604 miles (9,020 kilometers) of 2D seismic and 7,228 square miles (11,633 square kilometers) of 3D seismic.
