Italy-focused Sound Oil reported Wednesday that it has appointed two non-executive directors to its board. Sound said that Simon Davies, who has a background in the financial services industry, and Gerry Orbell, a petroleum geologist, both join the company immediately.
Davies is currently chairman of JP Morgan Overseas Investment Trust. He was formerly London-based Threadneedle Asset Management's executive chairman, retiring from the role in 2012 after 17 years with the business. He has previously served as a non-executive director at Sound Oil
Orbell has more than 40 years' experience in the oil and gas industry. He is currently chairman of Antrim Energy Inc. and serves as a director on a number of private company boards. He retired as executive chairman of Sound Oil in 2012.
