Aker Solutions Appoints Head of UK Operations

Norwegian oilfield services firm Aker Solutions announced Tuesday that it has appointed David Currie to head its UK business.

Currie’s job title at Aker will be UK Regional President. He will be based at Aker's Aberdeen office in Aberdeen, Scotland, where Aker has 2,600 employees. Currie will also oversee operations at Stockton-on-Tees, England, and at Aker's recently opened office in London.

Currie was previously at FMC Technologies, where he most recently served as Director of Global Subsea Operations after having worked at the firm since 1985.

Aker Solutions Executive Chairman Øyvind Eriksen commented in a company statement:

"David is an oil industry veteran with a significant track record in developing successful businesses. His experience in the subsea and energy sectors will be a huge asset in developing Aker Solutions in the UK and beyond."
