The MMS and PSA Sign Cooperation Agreement
MMS & PSA
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) and Minerals Management Service (MMS) signed an agreement on May 6th to continue their longstanding shared commitment to contribute to safer and more environmentally friendly industry operations.
Upon signing the agreement, MMS Director Johnnie Burton said that Norway is known internationally for being in the forefront in managing the petroleum industry, and has also distinguished itself by being proactive in health, safety and environmental issues.
"We look forward to our continued association with the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to make the oil and gas industry even safer and more environmentally sound," said Burton.
The agreement entails that MMS and the PSA will have regular contact and meetings to exchange experiences, ideas, challenges and technological solutions, and to identify areas in the offshore oil and gas activities where the two agencies have common interests.
