Kazakhstan-focused junior Max Petroleum reported Friday that it has had successful drilling results at appraisal wells on its Eskene North and Uytas fields.
The ESKN-2 appraisal well on the Eskene North field found 95 feet of net pay, according to electric logs, with the reservoir proving fair and porosities ranging from 15 percent to 20 percent, according to Max.
In the Uytas field, the UTS-12 appraisal well found 23 feet of net oil pay in Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoirs. Reservoir quality here is "excellent", according to Max.
The news of further successful drills comes just days after Max reported that its SAGW-6 appraisal well on the Sagiz West field discovered 98 feet of net oil pay.
