Prior to the conference, an interactive workshop hosted by Eversheds and Aon Global Risk Consulting. The theme of the workshop is “Doing Business in Iraq: Commercial & Legal Knowhow”. The workshop aims to facilitate effective judgment calls for investors’ business by understanding the key commercial and legal considerations when doing business in Iraq.
The workshop will also cover topics related to key considerations when doing business in Iraq, and will give an overview of oil and gas opportunities and contracts in the war-torn country. It will also cover issues regarding contracting with the government of Iraq and what the impact of investment law and government procurement rules are on business, along with choosing the correct forum for resolving disputes either in local or international courts or arbitration.
On the sideline of the conference, an international exhibition will be held to showcase the latest technologies to senior Iraqi professionals, contract holders and the service industry, which are all looking to build partnerships. The exhibition will see stands occupied by IOCs, Independents, EPC contractors and service companies.
Bacon further stated: “From all stakeholders in the Iraq Mega Project value chain, to new entrants to established companies and operators to sub-contractors, there will be knowledge-sharing of lessons learnt and a wealth of exciting networking”.
The event also offers an excellent opportunity for networking with industry peers, and high level executives to better understand the business environment in Iraq, and what it takes to be successful in the country.
