Iraq Mega Project Conference to Highlight Investment Opportunities
The 4th Iraq Mega Projects Conference taking place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will facilitate investment in Iraq's hugely promising oilfield sector.
The event, organized by the CWC Group, is set to bring together stakeholders from across the value chain, mainly from the oil and gas sector, to identify project and infrastructure investment opportunities in support of oilfield production in Iraq. It also aims to bring international and national oil companies to a single platform to identify project and infrastructure investment opportunities to support oilfield production.
The only Iraq focused oil and gas event in Dubai, organized under the Royal Patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, will discuss the improvements that have already been made over the past two years in the key areas of logistics, recruitment and Corporate Social Responsibility. Developed with the guidance of a steering committee of international experts, the two day Conference will identify project and infrastructure investment opportunities, latest field developments and identify best practice case studies on some of the toughest operational challenges.
The first session of the conference will be entitled “Optimising Iraq’s Oil Field Development: Reviewing the Scale, Technologies & Next Steps,” where Dr. Mehdi Hafedh, chairman of Progress Institute for Development Policies and Former Minister of Planning, will deliver the opening speech of the conference.
Other Key note speakers at the event will include Dr. Adnan Janabi, Chairman of the Oil & Gas Committee at the Federal Parliament of Iraq, Ali Al-Mashat, Advisor, Advisory Commission Iraq Prime Minister's Office, and Ali Alwash, general manager at State Company for Oil projects.
The second panel session will be entitled “Oil Field Showcases: Sharing Success Stories, Challenges & Future Plans”. In this session, panelists will shine light on forecasting future requirements in order to determine capacity expansion, as well as development plans and lessons learnt from field operators, in addition to an update on South Oil Company’s “Common Seawater Supply Project” and how the role is optimizing field development.
During the second day of the conference, a breakfast about Provinces Investment, spotlighting infrastructural needs of an Iraqi Province will take place early in the morning. In addition to the breakfast, day two of the event will highlight port logistics in Iraq and look for dynamic solutions of the industry.
