Oilfield engineering services firm Wood Group Mustang announced Thursday that it is recruiting more than 100 personnel for its Woking office in the UK.
Wood Group said that the recruitment drive was due to it securing several contracts in the North Sea during the past 12 months. The firm has already carried out a variety of projects for Statoil under a framework contract awarded in 2011; these include: concept feasibility, concept selection, concept definition, FEED phases, and detailed engineering for all types of facilities.
Recently, the firm was awarded two multi-million dollar engineering design contracts for the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. One of these contracts is for the detailed engineering of topsides and design of an offshore oil and gas production facility that will be operated by Det norske oljeselskap in the Ivar Aasen field.
Wood Group's Woking office is also completing the front-end engineering design (FEED) of a jacket and topsides for a wellhead platform in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea for a major energy client.
Wood Group General Manager Gary Wilkes commented in a company statement:
"The future for Wood Group Mustang in the UK is exciting. We are receiving new projects as our reputation gains momentum with industry decision makers who have heard about or experienced our positive results."
