Ophir Appoints Non-Exec Director

Africa-focused Ophir Energy reported Thursday that it has appointed Vivien Gibney as a non-executive director.

Ophir said that Gibney has 25 years' experience as counsel in upstream oil and gas companies, including roles with Mobil Oil and Enterprise Oil. At Enterprise, she set up the legal department and held the positions of general counsel, company secretary and head of human resources.

Ophir Chairman Nicholas Smith commented in a company statement:

"We are very pleased to welcome Vivien Gibney to Ophir's Board. Her extensive career within the oil industry at a corporate level will provide valuable experience as we continue to grow our business."
