Shell Spuds Final Well in French Guiana Drilling Campaign

Junior explorer Northern Petroleum reported Tuesday that the GM-ES-5 well on the Guyane Maritime Permit, operated by Shell, offshore French Guiana has spud.

The well is the final well of the current four-well drilling program in the Guyane Maritime Permit.

Northern has a 1.25-percent interest in the permit, while Shell holds 45 percent. Total, Tullow Oil and Wessex Exploration hold 25 percent, 27.5 percent and 1.25 percent respectively.
