Bardex Corporation received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea for a mooring system for the Ichthys semi-submersible central processing facilities (CPF) production vessel, which will be located off the north-west coast of Western Australia.
The order comprises 4 moveable Bardex Linear Chain Jacks and 28 Bardex proprietary BarLatch Fairlead Stopper, the latter are designed to react to the break strength of the 7 inch (178 millimeter) Grade R4 top chain. Four Bardex designed hydraulic power units, chain jack and ancillary chain handling equipment including computer controlled controls are an integral part of the design and supply order.
The CPF will be the world’s largest semi-submersible production vessel and will be located in the Browse Basin.
Inpex Corporation’s Ichthys development holds a likely resource of 12.8 trillion cubic feet of gas and 527 million barrels of condensate.
