Junior producer Leni Gas and Oil reported Monday that production has been fully restored at existing wells on the Icacos field, while also being enhanced by the reactivation of a previously-dormant well on the field.
Leni said that wells IC-1 and IC-3 have been successfully worked over. IC-1, the main producing well in the field, was worked over in order to repair a defect in its production tubing and is now contributing approximately 20 barrels of oil per day. Well IC-3, which was dormant for several years, is now producing at a gross rate of five bopd.
Field production is expected to stabilize at approximately 40 bopd during the next week. Leni has a 50-percent stake in the field's production.
Leni Chief Executive Neil Ritson commented in a company statement:
"Although Icacos is only a small part of our portfolio in Trinidad we are delighted that production has now been restored and that the addition of a further well is contributing to the field's profitability."
