Royale Energy Says Well Blowout Under Control

On Thursday, April 29th during a completion at the Royale Energy Bowerbank Field, the Sam #2 well began flowing uncontrolled natural gas and formation water with no oil. The company immediately secured the well site to ensure safety. Thereafter a specialist team was rapidly mobilized to begin containment operations. Within 20 hours the flow was brought under control.
There were no injuries and minimal damage to equipment and property. The company is evaluating the gas zone, however is not hopeful of re-establishing production from the current well.
The Bowerbank Field is located approximately 25 miles northwest of Bakersfield, California.
