IG Seismic Services PLC (IGSS), a pure play land and transition-zone seismic company in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, announced a two-year contract for seismic exploration works in India.
Cairn India Limited and IGSS' subsidiary Azimuth Energy Services JSC have signed a two-year contract for seismic exploration works in India (site near Barmer City of Rajasthan State). The agreement envisages conducting seismic exploration works, using 3D technology. The works may cover over 579 square miles (1,500 square kilometers) or over 200,000 shot points. The start of works is planned for the beginning of October 2013.
Rustam Rakhmatulin, senior vice president for Sales and Marketing, commented:
"Large international companies from Poland, United States of America, India and Kazakhstan competed to win this tender. We are honored to be entrusted to do the job, since the project of such complexity can be carried out only by a large, reliable and technologically advanced company. We understand the responsibility, and intend to implement the project at the highest level. For us this contract is important and welcomed - it represents a logical part of the Company’s development strategy."
