Production Commences at Wenchang 8-3E Oil Field
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that the offshore Wenchang 8-3E oil field has recently commenced production.
The Wenchang 8-3E oil field is located in the western Pearl River Mouth Basin with an average water depth of about 361-394 feet (110-120 meters). The project has 4 producing wells and is expected to reach its peak production within the year.
CNOOC declined to comment on the current production level at the Wenchang 8-3E oil field when contacted by Rigzone.
CNOOC is the operator of the Wenchang 8-3E oil field, with a 100 percent interest.
