CNOOC Resumes Full Production at Zhuhai Terminal

CNOOC Limited announced that the subsea natural gas pipeline at Zhuhai Terminal has been repaired after a leak was found in late 2011, enabling the Zhuhai Terminal to resume normal production.

The company said the subsea natural gas pipeline was found damaged with a leakage due to "external forces" in December 2011. CNOOC resumed partial natural gas supply to its customers through the subsea pipeline in mid-January 2012 after carrying out a series of intensive repairs, with the point of leakage hit by severe weather conditions, making it challenging for the company to carry out repairs.

CNOOC said the incident affected its net production from these fields by approximately 160 million cubic feet per day.

Zhuhai Terminal, located in Hengqin island of Zhuhai city, is the gas processing terminal for the joint natural gas project of PY30-1 gas field and HZ oil and gas field in the Eastern South China Sea.
