Blake International Receives Extension for Pemex Gig

Blake International USA Rigs has received a contract extension on the Blake 2001. Pemex has extended the contract for an additional 160 days ending its current contract in mid November. The Blake 2001 will then begin its new 1,261-day contract awarded to Blake International earlier this year.

“Pemex continues to ramp up its drilling activity and we have positioned ourselves on the front line. Modular platform rigs have become a safe, low cost and effective way for Pemex to regain and maintain their production output needed. We are also in negotiations with Pemex to add additional rigs to our fleet in Mexico by way of deploying current assets from our Houma facility. By adding additional rigs to our Mexico fleet, we will continue to reach our goal of becoming Pemex’s preferred modular platform rig drilling contractor," said President and CEO Beau Blake.
