SBM's Cidade de Paraty FPSO Begins Service
Dutch oilfield services firm SBM Offshore reported Tuesday that its Cidade de Paraty FPSO has been formally on hire since June 7 following full systems acceptance by its client. SBM added that the FPSO is currently ramping up its oil production on the Lula Nordeste development in the pre-salt area, offshore Brazil.
The Lula field is located on block BM-S-11 in the Santos Basin, approximately 195 miles off the coast of Brazil. The Cidade de Paraty is a new generation of FPSO and has installed topside facilities that can process 120,000 barrels of oil per day.
SBM said that the facility, which was constructed in 34 months, will operate under a 20-year charter.
