Mjosa Prospect Well Comes up Dry

Anglo-Norwegian junior explorer Bridge Energy reported Tuesday that drilling operations on the Mjøsa prospect on Norwegian production license 511 are about to complete. However, despite reservoir-quality sandstones being encountered preliminary well results indicate that no commercial hydrocarbons have been found.

Bridge said that the operator of PL511, Wintershall Norge, will now plug and abandon the well.

As operator, Wintershall holds a 25-percent interest in PL511m, while Bridge has a 7.5-percent interest. Other partners include Maersk Oil Norway, Petoro, Tullow Oil Norge and VNG Norge.
