Max Spuds UTS-8 Well in Kazakhstan
Central Asia-focused Max Petroleum reported Monday that it has begun drilling the UTS-8 appraisal well on the Uytas Field on Block A, Kazakhstan, using Zhanros Drilling's ZJ-20 rig.
Max plans to drill the well to a total vertical depth of 2,950 feet, targeting Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic reservoirs.
The firm pointed out that the location of the UTS-8 well is beyond the current limits of the Uytas Field and that if the well is successful it could significantly extended the western limits of the field.
