Det norske Starts Production at Jette

Norway's Det norske oljeselskap reported Tuesday that it has begun production from its Jette field in the Norwegian North Sea, after the firm completed its first production well on the field.

Det norkse said that the production marked a milestone since it is the first oil produced by the company as an operator.

First oil arrived from the Jette field to the nearby Jotun field May 19. The company expects the second well on the field to begin producing this Wednesday.

Det norske, as operator, holds a 70-percent interest in the Jette field, with its partner Petoro holding the remaining 30 percent.
