Kazakhstan-focused Roxi Petroleum reported Monday that Well 806 on its BNG contract area has been tested at a second interval, between 6,555 feet and 6,611 feet, yielding 130 barrels of oil per day (bopd) over a two-day period.
Roxi announced May 9 that the first level tested – between 6,634 feet and 6,667 feet – produced at a rate of 90 bopd over a six-day period. The company will now carry out a third interval test between 6,512 feet and 6,542 feet.
Roxi Chairman Clive Carver commented in a company statement:
"We are delighted that the results of the second interval at Well 806 are even better than the first interval. This makes us more confident in the economic potential of the well in general.
"We are also excited about the imminent deep well spudding of the first of our two deep wells this year."
Roxi intends to drill two deep wells at the BNG asset in 2013: the first to be drilled to a depth of 15,420 feet, the second to a depth of 13,780 feet.
