Rig Masters announced it has been awarded the contract to provide project management services for Coastal Energy for the Energy Producer 5 (ex-Hercules 259) and Energy Producer 6 (ex-Hercules 257).
Coastal Energy is a repeat customer of Rig Masters signifying a strong relationship between the two companies.
The project awarded to Rig Masters is for the conversion of Energy Producer 5 & 6 from drilling mode to Mobile Offshore Production Units (MOPU). The conversion will be done by the MMHE Shipyard in Malaysia. Rig Masters will oversee the complete conversion from inception to completion. Currently the rigs are being transported on a heavy lift vessel and the ETA to MMHE Shipyard is the first week of May. Duration of both conversions is expected to be around 120 to 140 days.
The conversion to MOPU consists of reclassification & recertification, removal of drilling equipment, steel renewal, life enhancement, engineering, installation of process packages and variable speed drives, new heli-deck installations to meet CAP 437 requirements and new power management system installation.
Additionally Rig Masters provided technical and inspection support services to Coastal Energy for selection of the rigs.
Rig Masters Pte Ltd. recognizes the importance of quality management and as such has recently been granted ISO 9001 certification by BM Trada (UK).
