Canadian oil company Adulis Resources (TSXV: ADE) has started drilling its first exploration well on its 25%-owned Guachiria block in Colombia's Llanos basin, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

The well, Malabares No. 1, will be drilled to a depth of approximately 7,000 feet and will be completed and tested before end-May. In the late 80s, three wells were drilled on Guachiria and tested at 2,046 barrels a day (b/d), 1,953b/d and 771b/d respectively. However, they were never commercially produced and were subsequently abandoned.
